The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The copper plate is in very good condition, it is thick and stable. In natural light the painting presents well, with the details of the composition essentially well preserved. There is some surface dirt. There is some minor frame abrasion to the plate edges. Examination under UV light reveals some strengthening to the red passages of the costume. There is some retouching to the lower right corner. There is a cloudy varnish that precludes further examination.
