Sale Overview

This October within our notable Frieze Marquee Week, First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online will feature a wonderful selection of works by leading Post-War and Contemporary artists such as Yoshitomo Nara, Harland Miller, George Condo and Nicolas Party.

In celebration of Frieze Week in London, we will be presenting rising female contemporary names such as Sarah Slappey, Caroline Walker and Danielle Orchard. Additionally, we will be offering exciting new talent from Africa and its diaspora such as Oluwole Omofemi, Atanda Quadri Adebayo and Negyem Adonoo.

We are delighted to be offering a large selection of unique drawings by the late fashion designer, Yves Saint Laurent. Noted by Andy Warhol as the ‘most important French artist’, we are thrilled to be offering an eclectic mixture of original fashion designs, drawings and collages depicting and referencing figures such as Freddie Mercury, Johnny Hallyday and Henri Matisse.

Additionally, Christie’s is thrilled to partner with the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) to celebrate its 50th anniversary and benefit the institution’s new Young Artists Fund. Twenty-three artworks donated by established and emerging contemporary artists will be offered across two auctions in London, the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale and First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online. Highlights within First Open will include works by Irfan Önürmen, Rasim Aksan, Asli Çavuşoğlu and Renee Levi.

The sale is open for bidding from 4–18 October. A selection of highlights will be on view at Christie’s King Street from 6 October. To arrange a viewing, please do not hesitate to contact us.
