Sale Overview
Art is not only about representation. This is how the Greeks defined their art.
African art is about life.

Christie’s is pleased to announce our online-only auction Living with African and Oceanic Arts, open for bidding from 25 February to 11 March. Works will be on view in our Paris galleries from 6–11 March.
The sale features a selection of works of art from Africa, Oceania, Indonesia and North America, with estimates ranging from €100–60,000.
This group of artworks celebrates the breadth of styles and creativity of the artists from these cultures, who had influenced some of the great European masters of the 20th century. When added to any collections of modern and contemporary art and design, these works enter into a vivid dialogue with existing pieces through the intertwining themes of art and life.
We also have the privilege of offering in this auction some examples from important private collections, of equally impressive origins, including from the collection of Marie-Ange Ciolkowska, wife of painter and art critic Henri Ciolkowska, and that of Mireille and James Lévy.
