The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall in good, decorative condition. Sound and ready to place. With typical scattered nicks, dings, marks, surface scuffs and scratches. The decoration with lifting, flaking, cracking and losses, revealing plaster and barewood. With some further deeper scuffs and marks, including some surface abrasions to the gesso. With rubbing to the gilding and painted decoration. With visible joins in areas, including the chair backs. With some further nicks and small chipped losses to the carved decoration at high points, primarily at the corners of the legs and ends of the arms. With a loss to the back right foot of the example in needlepoint upholstery and the front right leg at the knuckle of the example in green silk damask. The upholstery well maintained with minor surface wear and light surface soiling. With a slight build up of surface dirt.
